PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Palo Capital is a two-person three year-old Newport Beach RIA firm with $40M in assets under management growing over 100% per year.  We are seeking a talented and proven equity analyst/portfolio manager. Our firm has strong investment performance using predominantly individual issues and a low turnover, long-short equity strategy weighted towards smaller cap names. Clients are high net-worth individuals.  All revenues are fee-only and include significant performance-based fees.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to firm’s investment strategies
• Identify and analyze equities for inclusion in client portfolios through fundamental and quantitative research
• Monitor portfolio positions
• Analyze portfolio performance and risk exposures
• Work with clients to understand their investment objectives
• Trade accounts consistent with firm's investment policies
• Propose improvements to firm’s investment information resources and investment process
• Evaluate trading systems & transactions costs

Requirements

• At least 5 years experience in securities analysis and/or portfolio management
• A demonstrated ability to produce superior investment returns
• Self-motivated, and passionate about investing
• The highest integrity and work ethic
• Excellent analytic, MS Office & Bloomberg skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Superb references
• Ability to interact well with high net-worth clients
• Advanced degree and CFA preferred
