Palo Capital was founded on the investing talents of Kevin O’Grady, Palo Capital’s founder & Chief Investment Officer.
Mr. O’Grady brings a diverse background to investment management. Raised in Northern California, he graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a focus on the economics of healthcare. After earning an M.D. from Stanford University in 1977, and completing board certification in internal medicine, Mr. O’Grady was awarded a Johnson Foundation fellowship. During this time, he earned a masters in healthcare administration from UCLA and worked as a Research Associate at RAND Corporation where his econometric research on health insurance was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

From 1999 to 2003, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Valence Semiconductor, during which time he managed over $70 million in private equity financings.
Mr. O’Grady began equity investing in the early 1980s. By the mid-1990s, he was managing “family and friends” money, and his success led to appearances in Barron’s, a national financial publication. With a track record of excellent performance in good markets and in bad, and a real passion for investing, Mr. O’Grady formed Palo Capital in 2005.
