Giving Back

About Palo Capital

Giving back is a core belief at Palo Capital. We are committed to contributing our time and our treasure to organizations that improve the lives of others through science, the arts, or education, or by promoting economic self-sufficiency. Examples of our involvements include:

  • Nella Webster O’Grady was named "2015 Philanthropist of the Year" by the United Way of Orange County’s Tocqueville Society. While such awards are often given to those who have made the largest donations, in Nella’s case it followed nine years of enthusiastic service on the United Way Board of Directors, and a long history of service to multiple Orange County charitable, educational, and arts organiztions.
  • In Palo Capital’s early years, we sent a small gift to our clients each holiday season. In 2008 amidst the economic downturn, we replaced such gifts with a donation to 501(C)(3) entities selected by clients. Clients applauded this move and we have continued it ever since.  Organizations contributed to include Fisher House, American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, American Heart Association, Plasticos Foundation, Arts & Healing Foundation, Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, United Way of Orange County, Alzheimers Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Women Helping Women, Leukemia & Lymphoma Association, Ocean Institute, etc.
  • Palo Capital staff have contributed their expertise by serving on boards, investment policy committees, or as treasurers of multiple non-profit entities including Chapman University, Stanford University, American Cancer Society, Pacific Symphony, Plasticos Foundation, Girl Scouts, Newport Beach Public Library Foundation, University of Michigan Alumni Association, Anaheim Performing Arts Center, Musical Theater West, CIELO, etc.
